Terms of Service

In plain terms. Use Handover for your own field-service work, keep your account and device secure, and understand that reports you generate are your responsibility. Handover Pro is an auto-renewing subscription you can cancel anytime through your app store.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing or using the Handover mobile application ("Handover", "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Handover on devices you own or control, for your own personal or business use, in accordance with these Terms and the applicable app store terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law;
  • use the app to create false, misleading or fraudulent records, or to misrepresent when, where or by whom work was performed;
  • use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others, including privacy rights of people appearing in your photos;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute the app itself.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you create in Handover — including clients, jobs, photos, signatures and reports ("Your Content"). Your Content is stored on your device; you are responsible for its accuracy, for backing it up, and for obtaining any consent needed from clients or third parties (for example, before photographing their property or capturing their signature).

5. Handover Pro subscriptions

Handover offers a free tier (currently limited to 3 reports per month) and a paid subscription, Handover Pro, which unlocks features such as unlimited reports, custom branding, signatures, export options and premium themes.

  • Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play under your store account. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period remains active until it ends.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We generally cannot issue store refunds directly.

Cancelling Pro does not delete your data — your existing reports and PDFs remain accessible on your device.

6. Third-party services

Some features rely on third-party services (for example, weather and map data, and subscription processing). Your use of those features is also subject to the relevant third parties' terms. See our Privacy Policy for details on the services involved.

7. Disclaimers

Handover is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that GPS, weather, map or timestamp data will be accurate or suitable for any legal, evidentiary or regulatory purpose. You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Handover and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Handover at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate the license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 4, 7, 8 and 10) will continue to apply.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
